Day 2 Wrap-Up

Day 2 of the 2025 MacDonald Cup features four matches.

The Langley Thunder (1-1) took on the Saanich Express (2-0) at 10:00am and lost 9-5. Nate Murray led Express scoring with 2 goals and 1 assist with Kaden Ward stopping 26 of 31 shots in goal.

The Westshore Bears (1-1) hooked up with the Prince Albert Predators (2-0) at 1:00pm with the Predators prevailing 18-13. Westshore’s Aodhan Hildebrandt (7G, 1A) and Prince Albert’s Chase Lehner (4G, 4A) led scoring while PA’s Joey Juchasz turned aside 40 of 53 shots for his 2nd win.

Host Valley Sturgeon (1-1) got their first in the win column with an 11-7 victory over the West Kootenay Timberwolves (0-2) at 4:00pm. The Timberwolves’ Reece Whitehead (6G) and the Sturgeon’s Kane Roberts (3G, 3A) led scorers with Valley’s Lultaj Mahal stopping 27 of 34 shots. 

Thursday wrapped up with the North Shore Indians (1-1) beating the Oceanside Sharks (0-2) in overtime 9-8 at the 7:00pm match. The Indians’ Bryan Guss topped scoring with 4 goals and 3 assists while Blake Swan and Owen Joseph teamed up to stop 113 of 121 shots.
