Crossover Day Wrap-Up
Day 4 of the 2025 MacDonald Cup features four crossover playoff matches.
Pool A 3rd place Langley Thunder (2-1) faced Pool B 4th place West Kootenay Timberwolves (0-3) at 10:00am and came away with a 13-8 decision. Jake Newby (5G, 2A) led scoring while Jensen McGregor stopped 36 of 44 shots in net. Pool A 4th place Oceanside Sharks (0-3) came from behind to upset Pool B 3rd place Valley Sturgeon (1-2) 8-7 at the 1:00pm game. Liam Clyde (3G, 2A) led the Sharks' attack with Jordan Day stopping 36 of 43 shots.
Pool A 1st place North Shore Indians (2-1) hooked up with Pool B second place Westshore Bears (2-1) at 4:00pm and advanced to the final with a 12-9 overtime win. North Shore’s Rakawineh Elijah (4G, 4A) led all scorers and Owen Joseph stopped 58 of 67 shots. The day wrapped up with the Pool B first place Prince Albert Predators (3-0) punching their ticket to the final with a 13-8 victory over Pool A second place Saanich Express (2-1). PA’s Brayden Regier led scoring with 2 goals and 7 assists while Oliver Volek stopped 35 of 43 shots.
Prince Albert and North Shore will play for the Gold Medal on Sunday at 3:00pm, with Saanich and Westshore playing for the Bronze Medal at noon. Langley and Oceanside will play for 5th place at 9:00am, with Valley and West Kootenay done for the tournament.
