Prince Albert Repeats as MacDonald Cup Champions!

Day 5 of the 2025 MacDonald Cup featured the final three matches of the tournament.

The Gold Medal game went to overtime, with the Prince Albert Predators (5-0) edging the North Shore Indians (3-2) 10-8. The Predators were down by a goal with 1:46 left in regulation when Braden Shewchuk tied this up to send the game to extra innings. Brayden Rieger got the eventual game winner and Sam Cooper got the insurance marker, with Ryley Prediger the top scorer with 2 goals and 4 assists. Prince Albert outshot North Shore 64-44, with Joey Juchacz making 36 saves. It was the Predators second straight MacDonald Cup championship.

The Saanich Express (3-2) took the Bronze Medal by the score of 19-14 over the Westshore Bears (2-3). Saanich's Tory Bains led scoring with 6 goals and 4 assists and Eric Howarth stopped 36 of 50 shots for the win.

The Langley Thunder (4-1) faced the Oceanside Sharks (1-4) for 5th place and left with an 11-7 victory. Jake Newby led scoring with 4 goals and 2 assists while Deklan Morrison stopped 45 of 52 shots.
