Saanich Express Confirmed for MacDonald Cup

We are excited to announce our sixth confirmed team for this this year’s invitational!! 

The Saanich Express represents the Municipality of Saanich and has players on its team from Saanich and free agent areas such as Sidney, Saanich Peninsula and Victoria-Esquimalt catchments.

The Express were formerly known as the Saanich Tigers which had operated off and on since the early 2000’s. After the 2017 season, the team was moved from being operated by minor lacrosse to Andrea and Tyson Leies where since the 2018 season, the Express have been Pacific Northwest Junior Lacrosse League and Provincial contenders. The Express finished 2nd in the province in 2019 and then after two years of COVID, won Provincial gold in 2022 in Victoria.

The MacDonald Cup will be held in the new arena at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre from August 9-13, 2023, which will precede the 2023 Founders Cup. The active planning committee has members from all four western provinces and is looking for volunteers and sponsors to make this a great event.
